BAD IDEA
Can an aurora hurt your eyes?
No, auroras won't hurt your eyes unless you stare so long you forget to blink and go blind from dryness.
Auroras are basically natural light shows courtesy of charged particles colliding with Earth's atmosphere. They emit visible light safe for your eyes — no lasers, no UV overload. So, looking at an aurora won't fry your retinas, but if you stand outside too long squinting without blinking in icy conditions, your eyes might get dry and uncomfortable. Other than that, enjoy the cosmic light show with zero risk to your eyeballs.
